Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is an effort to universalize elementary education by community-ownership of the school system. It is a response to the demand for quality basic education all over the country. The SSA program is also an attempt to provide an opportunity for improving human capabilities to all children, through provision of community-owned quality education in a mission mode.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has been announced the Selection List for various posts under Adarsh/Model Schools.

About Department of Education
The Department was started in 1963 with M.Ed. regular course. M.Ed. (Evening) Course for in-service teachers was added in 1969, M.A. (Education) in 1979, M.Phil. (education) in 1979; M.Ed. (Guidance and Counseling) in 1991 and M.Ed. (Educational Technology) in 1991. The department runs a Ph.D. program wherein each teacher is entitled to enroll six Ph.D scholars for supervising doctoral research. Presently, M.Ed. evening and M.Phil(Edu) programs are not being conducted.
Department has been awarded special assistance program (SAP,DRS) by UGC w.e.f from 1.4.95:First Phase: 01.04.1995 to 31.03.2000, Second Phase: 01.04.2001 to 31.03.2006, Third phase 01.04.2007 to 31.03.2012. The department runs only regular courses and does not deal with administrative matters of distance education and private examination in education.

About Punjabi University
Established on April 30, 1962 in the erstwhile princely state of Patiala with the main objective of furthering the cause of Punjabi language, art and literature, Punjabi University has since evolved into the largest University in the state. Spread over 600 acres of land, its 500 teachers are imparting instruction and guidance to nearly 9,000 students in a multi-faceted, multi-pronged and multi-faculty environment comprising 65 Teaching and Research Departments on its Campus, five Regional Centres, six Neighbourhood Campuses and 166 Colleges affiliated to it.

PSEB 12th (Plus Two) Results 2011 : Punjab State education Board (PSEB) has announced the Results 2011 for Supplementary Examination.
The PSEB (Punjab School Education Board) came into being under an Act of Legislation in 1969, amended in 1987, 2000 and 2005. The Board also gives merit scholarships to meritorious students @ one student per 1000 students. These scholarships are given only to those students who are not covered by the national /state scholarships. At present there are 1739 Schools affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board. PSEB 12th Supplementary Results 2011 will be Published soon online at the official website (http://www.pseb.ac.in) of PSEB.
